A while back, survey questions were not allowed on Quora.
Perhaps they were seeking hard facts and knowledge, not the random thoughts people have.
Now survey questions are allowed. At some point, that restriction was removed.
Since then many survey questions have allowed people to share their person wisdom, whether others agree with it or not.
I like it.
It is the messy mix of thought which will propel us forward as mixing cultures.
Personal experience and bias are the basis of our opinions more often than scientific fact.
Messy, but that is what we have to deal with.
So I can ask questions like:Decadence: What are the most decadent things you have ever done?
And there are thousands of other survey questions resulting in deep insightful answers based on personal experience.
And is any one answer the most true? Will we find the right answer? Maybe not. We don't even agree on what decadence is! But we can play with notions even when the terms are in question and we find each others view's offensive.
We can find many answers and welcome the thoughts surrounding them to help other people on their paths towards what they believe to be truth.
It seems like Quora is still playing with features and policies.
And the Quora experience seems mostly good. We wander along struggling.
